This course provides an overview of the OSI reference model of data communication networks. This course also explains devices that pertain to the physical layer.

After completing this course, students will be able to:
Define the seven layers of the OSI reference model
Explain the protocols, services and functions that pertain to each layer
Configure and troubleshoot a network card
Resolve hardware resource conflicts pertaining to network cards
Identify the use of common physical layer devices such as hubs, MAUs, repeaters and transceivers
