Ojectives: After completing this course, students will be able to: Explain how procedures are merged with other JCL during execution
Identify in the job output which statements were coded instream, from an instream procedure, or from a cataloged procedure
Explain JOB steps and PROC steps in a jobstream
Identify problems in a sample multi-step job
Identify situations when the DDNAME parameter should be used
Explain how symbolic parameters are used
Define symbolic parameters
Create a temporary data set by omitting a value for the DSN parameter
Select default values for symbolic parameters
Use symbolic parameters to add and comment out parameters on JCL statements
