Summary: This course includes in-depth coverage on configuring a Cisco router to secure access to it. It explains how to use IOS routers as a firewall solution for protecting a data network from outsiders ? especially hackers ? and, it addresses technologies, security features and IOS features that are useful in implementing a secure firewall solution. This course also covers an overview of security, the challenges encountered in managing firewalls, managing access to routers, disabling unnecessary features to limit network access points, non-stateful filtering technologies, basic and advanced features of access lists, stateful and advanced filtering technologies, including Context-Based Access Control (CBAC), address translation and firewalls, address lock-and-key ACLs, authentication proxy, Routing Protocol Protection, detecting and preventing attacks, router IDS tools, VPNs, and other network security solution topics related to Cisco IOS Router Firewalls
Ojectives: After completing this course, students will be able to: Explain the functions, operations, and primary components of the IOS Firewall. Configure SDM IOS Firewall interfaces used in VPN connections. Configure the IOS role-based CLI secure management feature.
