Summary: This course provides an overview of Internet programming and scripting languages, including C, C++, Java, JavaScript, ActiveX, Jscript and VBScript. It introduces several widely-used browser plug-ins and their functionality, and also provides an overview of security issues regarding the Internet, including cookies, authentication, encryption, firewalls and virus attacks.
Ojectives: After completing this course, students will be able to: Describe objects, plug-ins and viewers, their purposes, and their relationships to multimedia
Configure browser security preferences
Explain the significance of security features including Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), authentication, certificates, encryption, proxy servers and firewalls
Describe a computer virus and how to protect against attacks
